The 8tracks app interface and the three skip maximum began to wear on me. There was this app that would cache YouTube videos for audio feedback, and they just switched over to subscription-based payment. Spotify had a 48-hour free trial, and you did not have to confirm your email. For the first time, I had to prioritize and restructure how I was listening to music on my phone. I finally had the funds and the desire to save what I was listening to (first high school job and everything). I look back fondly at the teen angst and art hoe of it all.
