In the spring of 2024, X-TRA Art Journal published its final issue. By June 30, 2025, Project X Foundation, the nonprofit that published the magazine, will file official paperwork to dissolve the organization through the CA Attorney General’s office.

A committee of former X-TRA editors, staff, and Project X board members arranged for a run of the printed magazine to be placed in a large institutional archive, and for a nonprofit to receive, maintain, and host www.x-traonline.org.

This collection is intended as a repository for material that will not find a home in either of the aforementioned archives, and to provides some semblance of a map of the different archives and institutions that have taken up various pieces of X-TRA.
